Spa Baths

Spa Baths for Wollongong & Illawarra Bathrooms

The idea of a “spa bath” is really about one thing: sinking into deep, still, warm water at the end of a long day and letting the room do the rest. For a lot of Wollongong and Illawarra households that means an at-home spa experience built around a genuinely deep-soaking tub, warm-touch surfaces and a calm corner of the bathroom to call your own — not necessarily a bank of jets. This is one of the sub-categories under our full Spa Baths & Baths range, and we’ve focused it on the Fienza deep-soak freestanding tubs we can supply across Unanderra and the South Coast.

A note on jets, up front: Fienza — the brand we stock in this space — does not currently make jetted or air-spa (hydrotherapy) baths, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What Fienza does exceptionally well is the deep-soak, solid-surface freestanding tub: the closest thing to a spa retreat you can build without a pump, and arguably the more relaxing experience for most people. If you specifically want a jetted or air-massage system, tell us — we can advise on and source jetted options from other suppliers on request. Everything featured below is a genuine deep-soak tub with no jets or air system.

Fienza Empire Slim Freestanding Solid-Surface Bath, 1700mm — Matte White

Fienza Empire Slim Freestanding Solid-Surface Bath, 1700mm — Matte White

The Empire Slim is Fienza’s premium solid-surface freestanding range, and it’s our pick for a spa-like soak in a contemporary Illawarra bathroom. The warm, stone-like matte white shell wraps a gloss white acrylic interior over a concealed steel support frame, and the slim-edge rim keeps the profile sharp and architectural. At 1700mm long with a generous 230-litre capacity, there’s real depth to disappear into — the point of an at-home spa. It ships with a chrome pop-out waste and a built-in overflow, weighs a manageable 50kg (SKU ST08-170). It’s honestly a deep-soak tub — no jets, no air system — but the warm-touch solid surface holds heat far longer than a standard acrylic bath, so the water (and the mood) stays warm. Also available in Matte Khaki and a 1500mm length. Bring your bathroom measurements into our Unanderra showroom and we’ll help you set it out.

Fienza Lillian Freestanding Solid-Surface Bath, 1700mm — Matte White

Fienza Lillian Freestanding Solid-Surface Bath, 1700mm — Matte White

If the Empire Slim is the everyday spa retreat, the Lillian is the statement version. It’s Fienza’s flagship freestanding bath — a substantial matte white solid-surface shell sitting on a classic plinth base, with the same gloss white acrylic interior over a built-in support frame. At 1700mm long and 243 litres it’s the deepest soak in this pairing, and the heavy premium build (80kg net) gives it a solid, grounded presence that anchors a larger Wollongong ensuite or main bathroom. It has a built-in overflow (SKU ST06-170), and is also offered in a 1500mm length. Like the Empire, it’s a genuine deep-soak tub with no jets or air system — the spa feeling here comes from depth, ergonomics and that thermal-retentive solid surface rather than moving water. What Actually Makes a Bath Feel Like a Spa

Ask most people to picture a spa bath and they think of jets — but if you’ve ever used a jetted tub much, you’ll know the pump is loud, the plumbing needs upkeep, and the novelty fades. The genuinely relaxing part of a spa is quieter than that, and it comes down to three things you can build into a bath with no moving parts at all:

  • Depth. A true soak needs enough water to cover your shoulders while you lean back. Both tubs above are 1700mm with 230–243 litres precisely so the water level sits where it should — this is the single biggest driver of the “spa” feeling.
  • A thermal-retentive shell. Standard acrylic sheds heat fast, so your soak goes lukewarm in minutes. Solid surface (the material of both the Empire Slim and Lillian) is warm to the touch from the moment you get in and holds temperature far longer, so a 20-minute soak stays warm the whole way through — no constant top-ups.
  • Ergonomics. A well-shaped backrest and a comfortable rim angle are what let you actually switch off. Freestanding forms like these are designed to be reclined in, not just sat in.

Get those three right and you have a genuine at-home spa — no pump, no filter cleaning, no noise. For the full picture on setting up a calming, wellness-focused bathroom, read our guide to creating a spa at home, and if you’re weighing up bath styles, our bathtub buying guide walks through freestanding, inset and back-to-wall in plain English.

Still comparing options? These spa baths sit alongside our other tubs — browse the broader freestanding baths range for more statement shapes and brands, or the space-saving inset & back-to-wall baths if your Illawarra bathroom is tighter on floor space. And if a jetted or air-spa system is a must-have, just ask — we’ll source and advise on jetted options from other suppliers.
